I was shooting pool at my house back in July of 2003.
I was recently divorced with a beautiful girl that had befriended me (Gina). I said I liked Buddhism and she said she was a Buddhist.

As we drank our beer, I asked her about the 4 noble truths and the 8 fold path. She said ”what’s that?”. I asked her how she could be a Buddhist and not know what I was talking about. She replied, “Well I’m a fortune baby, I don’t know what you’re talking about but Im part of the biggest lay organization of Buddhists in America”

We became great friends. Went to Hawaii together were I met the SGI group in Hilo. I moved to Portland and visited the NW District.

I’ve been to a few things at the FNCC center. The first one was Buddha in your Mirror.

I was so grateful for being able to show up anywhere in the world and have “friends”. I created SGIBuddhis.org as a gift.

Dan Defensor showed up. I was an internet guy that that threw up a web site to thank some great people that I loved. He was the wisdom we all needed to make it a meaningful community. Accident? I don’t think so. I don’t believe in coincedences. He has grown SGIBudism to what it is today. he has tirelessly tracked me down. Once when I was in Austrailia, LOL. I don’t even think he knows that. He’s a good guy.

Nut more showed up! Like Cida, Frankie, Toshizo, Petra, Mimi, Manav, and several stalwart members advising and helping too! WOW

Can we achieve Buddha hood in this lifetime “of course we can”…. If only, as they said “you would look in the mirror. FNCC is a beautiful place. I hope to return.

But I thought I would say hi. I met a woman nearly two years ago. We married 6 weeks after meeting and went on a Peace Tour. One year ago we stopped in Reno, NV and started the Spread Peace Café, where for every meal sold one is given to a homeless friend. (http://www.spreadpeacecafe.com)

I started Spread Peace Reno and it now serves 300 homeless people every day.

It was SGI-USA that gave me permission to just be “as good as I could be” and not worry about being perfect. For the first time I understood what it meant this is a journey not a race. For that I am so grateful.

So just saying hi. You’ll see me around more. I’m posting in the introductions because I’m new, LOL

Love you guys
