Some say "to-ban" and some say "ga-ju-kai" for the people who staff the desk, answer the phone and open and close the butsudon.

Could someone please comment on preferred English transliteration for these offices or groups?

There are those at the front desk ('gajukai'?) and then there are the greeters ('biakrin'?) and then there are the YMD who are outside guiding traffic and crosswalks. Maybe others too have special names. We want to thank and acknowledge people properly.

Is that how SGI events are organized in Japan? and what is the preferred English translation or transliteration (Hepburn system of Romanization or whatever)?

I hope this is the right place to ask this question!

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely

Chuck Roll

On the top page of Seikyo Shinbun today, it is announced that two new items, Armband and newly designed Cap, will be introduced to Soka-han in commemoration of 35th anniversary of the group. At the same time, for Gajokai members, a new enlightenment book 'Gengo no Homare' (Prestige of Guard?) will be issued in commemoration of 40th aniversary.

I'm looking forward to seeing them. :-)
