I have just join into this group of guidance today and with my sincere heart I like to thank you for taking up this duty in publishing sensei guidance to enlighten and brighten up many thoughts that sometimes can be a bit jam up. The heart is full of appreciation that words seem so empty to describe a big thank you for sensei guidance.

Guidance Today Book (volume 6).

Foreword

It was 21 years ago in 1988 that we published the first volume of Guidance Today. Subsequently, four more volumes were published. Throughout these years, I am glad to note that these publications of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's words of wisdom have attracted a following of readers from among SGI members and non-members alike.

This is not surprising to me for I feel that anyone who has read President Ikeda's works would agree that his words and thoughts speaks directly to our hearts and give us a refreshing and hopeful view of life and the world. They also inspire us with courage and determination to advance forward amidst our trying circumstances.

In this current sixth volume we have compiled an array of President Ikeda's guidances chosen from the previous five volumes. I am hesitant in calling this volume a selection of President Ikeda's best guidances, because I feel every guidance of President Ikeda has its own particular significance and flavour.

In addition, we have specially selected those guidances that would be more appropriate and appearing to readers outside the SGI community, in the hope that this volume would help more people come into contact with and be encouraged by the words and thoughts of President Ikeda. So we have aptly titled this sixth volume, "Wisdom for a Winning Life."

Our deepest appreciation goes to President Ikeda for kindly allowing us to share his wonderful words of wisdom and making this volume possible.
