About Me (tell us a little bit about yourself):
Singer/songwriter, poet, actor, writer. SGI member 13 yrs. I have a mission for Kosen-Rufu that revolves around my talents, and am pursuing whatever possibilities that may reveal. I am currently in process of sending submissions to a greeting card company. I have tried to plant the seeds of Buddhism in the card design and writing, as I am doing with the lyrics of my songwriting. I was recently appointed to a District Leadership position and am looking forward to helping others to reach their fullest potential in all aspects of their lives. This will be a great chapter in the book of my own Human Revolution. The best to all..................Weston

The Challenge
by Robert J Weston with dedication to Daisaku Ikeda

What truth has the Law, of “Cause and Effect?”
Surely more meaning than just to reflect
Some sense of what happens at first or the last;
Assessment of blame? Excuse for our past??

With courage, be now the one in your sight,
Account to yourself results of your life;
To slander your life, to blame someone else,
Allows no escape, of truth, to ones' self.

Good causes we make, produce good effects,
So future thought and action projects
A transformation of energy spent,
To oneness-related environment.

Know then, the causes, created by all,
Evoke a response insured by this Law;
This reveals to you, the way that connects,
Realize causes, create the effects.

No person can force change in another,
Not friend, nor foe, not parent or brother;
Because you respond, from deeds others do,
Is proof your actions reflect back to you.

Seek truth in your life, with truth make your bond,
Make change to yourself, all else will respond;
Harmony then, is drawn even nearer,
Because... you've changed, the one in your mirror.

We must search ourselves, completely unmasked,
Challenge our life, all doubt surpassed;
Personal change, with great resolution,
Promotes our own “Human Revolution”.

Effect of past cause, perceived the true way,
Reveals insight, for tomorrow's today;
This process existed through time before,
Continues today, and will ever more.

Weston, you are a member from Chicago right? Do you go to the Center often? I used to live in Chicago - and I lost touch with some of my buddhist friends and I would like to find again...if you could help me that would be great! 1) Joe Morales (about 60 years old) - handsom man 2) Iwona Bowrkowski (not sure of the spelling) - Any news I would be grateful! thank you and keep writting beautiful things! x

HI Weston....

How the heck are you. Been thinking of you lately and really hope you are doing well. I feel terrible that I didnt call you and invite you to our November general meeting. I was so overwhelmed and over the top.

Things are crzy busy for me but HP is just getting stronger and stronger and glowing in the dark. Linda Johnson stopprd in at one of our meetings and I was just totally blown away. I don't know what else to say except there is buddhist majic in the air! At Thanksgiving even my father came to me to ask me if there was any Buddhist literature to read. I'm sure I told you he was making beautiful Butsadans and he is not even a Buddhist.

There truly is hope for this world, and when I think of that I also think of you. Hope you are well and that your health is healthy,

Janet

Hi Weston, thanks for your message. A few yers ago I had the great good fortune to meet Mr Ikeda when he and his wife and interpreter came over to chat to a small group of us at Taplow Court. We were rehearsing a song that we were going to perform for him later that day. He thanked us for our efforts and said he was looking forward to our performance. We were all uplifted and sang our hearts out while he and his wife clapped along. It was a truly wonderful day.
