Dear SGI Comrades,

I am fighting a life and death battle as my newborn son was admitted to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for lung infection (pneumonia) last Saturday (November 6, 2010). I nearly lost my son the other day when he suddenly stop breathing and motionless with his face, hands and legs turn "blue". My wife managed to revive him through applying CPR on him in the car while I was driving to the hospital. I am chanting lot's and lots of daimoku everyday. I will update you when things are more settled and stable. My son's name is Jon Victor Tham. He is my first child. Appreciate if you could chant for his speedy recovery. Thank you all in advance.

With deep appreciation and gratitude,
Frankie

2) Latest updates on Baby Jon Victor as at November 11, 2010.

Baby Jon Victor no longer needs the live-support (ventilator) as he is breathing on his own. He's no longer on drips too. Nurses are feeding him mother's milk with the tube in his mouth. At the moment he is taking 40ml of milk on each feeding every three (3) hours. Nurses will increase his feeding to 60ml by tonight. He will stay in the ICU for another two or three days for further observation on his progress before the Doctor decides to transfer him to the Special Care Nursery (SCN).

We are heading towards the direction of Victory. My family will keep on chanting earnestly. The battle ain't over yet. "Strengthen your faith day by day, month after month. Should you slacken in your resolve even a bit, devils will take advantage."- On Persecutions Befalling the Sage (WND, pg 997)

"The wise will rejoice and the foolish will retreat."

Each day I sincerely Thank the Gohonzon for having this opportunity to change my karma and my family karma as well. Thank You Gohonzon.

My sincerest thanks and deep appreciation to all of you for your supports, encouragements and your powerful Daimoku in this crucial moment. I may not have the time to write/reply to each and everyone of you - a thousand apologies. When I read all your messages and encouragements, my eyes get moist. A big THANK YOU to all my SGI comrades.

Frankie.

3) Latest updates on baby Jon Victor as at November 12, 2010.

Baby Jon Victor is out of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) in the evening. He is in the Special Care Nursery (SCN). Everything's progressed on smoothly so far. He is taking his mother's milk promptly through the tubing. Thanks for your united, powerful Daimoku and the protection of the Gohonzon.

"For what purpose do we practice Nichiren Buddhism? It is to win in life. Victory is happiness; it brings joy. Defeat, on the other hand, is misery. No excuse can take away the wretchedness of defeat. That is why it is important to win in life and never be defeated. That is the purpose of faith." - Daisaku Ikeda. (Guidance Today, May 10)
