Merry Buddhistmas to Earth! 8:00 pm 12/23/10      Phil

For the rivers of the ocean connect all in the world,

with hope.

And in the crevices that would divide us

...are found the greatest jewels,

as we reach across in dialogue to elevate each other.

The Gohonzon is the map of the human heart

circulating the value in all,

because of transience creating eternal growth of compassion:

an aria drenching the infinite family with fresh winds of hope.

For billions of stars blaze

obove the Birth of Buddha

BUDDHISTMAS 12/8/10 11:00 AM

May your song, your prayer

Light everywhere, on trees

Of sacred birth, in children

Playing through whose eyes

We see the future, of Peace,

Drenching aria repeated,

Though ne’er truly heard before.

The people have thirsted for religion

religions have failed the people

still they thirst for a true one

disasters grow with the benefits of science

is it slander of a true religion?

is it an omen?

disasters have always existed

but now the whole earth is threatened

any true religion must exalt the earth as a living entity

from the vantage of the sun, which nourishes her

and illuminates her for the world

"and still she moves" said Galileo Galilei, the 'revolutionary'

scientist, of the earth

and still she moves with life

around a newly discovered sun which gives her eyes to see

her own beauty

to nourish it

"religion without science is lame,

but science without religion is blind"

said Albert Einstein, who exposed the absolute

constant of light,

and without science we cannot use

the river of our life to irrigate this planet,

but without a true religion this water will never be pure

to nourish it

and slake our thirst

Treat the (parent) Earth well.
It was not given to you by your parents.
It was loaned to your by your children.

May we repay our children
(that we gave life)
the meaning they give to our life.
Ad infinitum through the future.
We are human only if expressing this appreciation.
Surviving only if we express this appreciation.
Only appreciation survives in the end.

The Earth is a blue eye
for the universe to perceive its own beauty.
The Earth is a blue egg
pregnant with hope
to share everywhere.
