a couple of weeks ago our region leader here in the u.s. came for a visit. he gave me this advice--"to fuse" with my gohonzon. ever since i have been thinking about that. different people have given me different answers but i still cant picture it. one member even told me the metaphor of the blue fly grasping the horses tail. (havent found anything about a blue fly online).
so--i would like your opinions or comments on this. how do i fuse with my gohonzon or maybe i am understanding it wrong. any help will help! thanks.
For me it is the idea that the Diashonin has represented his enlightenment in the form of the gohonzon. By chanting in front of it we are drawing out or own enlightenment and fusing with his enlightenment. His pictorial representation of enlightenment is a tool for us to draw forth our enlightenment and fuse with his. That's how I see it anyway... and it help me as I chant to feel my Buddha hood. Often I chant to feel my buddha hood and then go through the components... courage, wisdom, compassion, high life force.... it helps me.
