SUBJECT: Danny Nagashima’s Message to the Gay Pride Parade Celebrations

To the precious members of the SGI-USA GLBT group:

Congratulations on the holding of your wonderful pride celebrations. I truly thank you for your participation, and I especially thank those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes toward the success of these activities.
In his message for the 75th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai, SGI President Ikeda writes:
“Nichiren Buddhism guides us to achieve our individual human revolution while enabling us to reveal great strength of character from within so that we can contribute not only to our own happiness but also for others and society as a whole. What is most needed in this ever more confusing world is the kind of dialogue that, based upon mutual trust and respect, is capable of transcending any differences among people.”
I believe your gathering is symbolic of this spirit, expressing your powerful
determination to advance with justice and equality for the sake of the people. I am looking forward to your wonderful growth and expansion based on these efforts;
let’s continue to unite with the pioneer members, men’s and women’s division and the youth. Please advance valiantly, creating a glorious history toward 2010, and let’s celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai with boundless victory as Ever-Victorious America!

We are in over 199 countries and we practice the same just in different languages. I have the fortune to have moved back to Germany and this is my 3rd time back. Everything is possible but you must have faith in you and the Gohonzon. Please keep up the good work and fight for Kosu-Rufu, the world needs us. all the best,

I am a queer member of SGI-Louisville (Men's Division/Highlands District). Just wanted to say hello to my fellow GLBT Bodhisttavas of the Earth. I am so grateful to have found the SGI, a religious community that goes well beyond TOLERANCE and CELEBRATES our diversity. It has been the greatest blessing. We are trying to get a GLBT group going in Louisville..thoughts, comments, advice welcome!

There will be an SGI shakabuku Booth at the Gay Pride Festival at Palm Springs Gay Pride on November 7th and 8th 2009. Come and do shakabuku with us!
