Subject: Our Treasured Joe Firoved

Dear Military and Veterans Group members. As some of you may have heard, our long time comrade in faith and supporter of our group, Joe Firoved, passed away Wednesday, April 2 at 3:40 p.m following complications with heart surgery earlier this year.  Joe was surrounded by his wife Hisae, and children Mike, Yuko and Andy, at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 13 at 1 p.m. at Santa Ana Community Center.

Joe was truly an American Pioneer of Kosen-rufu.  Please join us in sending daimoku for Joe and his family.

If you would like to send a card please address it to his wife:

Please feel free to forward this email.

Thank you,

Hello There, Wishing everyone much joy and many benefits in the new year. I was just told by my son who is a medic and guradsman that he will be deployed to Afghanistan next year. Can anyone kindly advise me on how we can best handle this phase in our lives?

Thank you truly,

Carrrie

WE have intro meetings at Air Force base somewhere in Oklahoma I hear.  Did you know about Fort Leonard Wood army bootcamp which began introducing young recruits in the mid 90's?

It is so cool that DOD is recognizing our practice. I found this wonderful practice while serving.

ON the SGI-USA site you'll see this info. If you're on active duty or know someone on active duty who needs to connect with SGI members, email:

activeduty@sgi-usa.org

, and they will reply with info for you about how to connect with members near your base or station wherever you are in the world. -Dan
