What photos can I NOT share in the Photos section?
1. Please no photos or facsimiles of the Gohonzon. For now, as a body of believers (sangha) of the SGI, we agree not to post them online especially on this site. They will be removed.
2. No adult or offensive content. There are children who are members of this site, so please reconsider what you post . (This applies also to postings of videos or blogs & discussion postings.) Also remember, since there are other members on this site who may come from different backgrounds, cultures, and religions & mores – for instance, a partially naked photo of yourself or other individuals may be considered offensive (even if artistic) by their culture or society especially if our members are using this site to showcase -- to their friends family members or shakubuku -- about the SGI or SGI members. Please be respectful or mindful what you're posting.
Photos that may not be yours (that you did NOT take with your own camera) or from commercial sources usually have copyright restrictions on them (cartoons, comics, ads, celebrities, inspiring artwork with encouraging sayings) unless you have the permission of the artist, company, news or art syndicate that produced these pictures. Protect this site and the owner of this site. Use your best discretion. Exceptions: *If a particular photo of a beautiful landscape, inspiring saying, or even a cartoon (Ziggy) is so irresistible that you have to share it publicly we’ll allow it to be posted for a certain amount of time but please remove it from public viewing after a week or two. Or you can edit the settings of your postings by allowing only your ‘friends’ to view the particular photo or posting in the Photos section.
PLEASE refrain from posting too many photos online. Be selective and post your best looking pictures. We won't delete them necessarily but it would definitely save time and space. If you want to showcase your entire work, create an online photo sharing account: Flickr, Picasa, Webshots, PictureTrail, MyPhotoAlbum, or KodakGallery. And then once you've uploaded all your wonderful images to one of these accounts, you can then post a link to your account so others can see your entire work. Thanks.
