What a small world. The 'Andersonville' I knew was in the 1970s. I grew up on the corners of Carmen & Clark, and later Foster & Ashland. Went to school at Trumbull until 6th grade. It was a changing neighborhood with a lot of immigrants from the Middle East moving in. It's changed quite a lot when I started visiting it back in 2006. Looks more like Lincoln Park neighborhood now. -best, Dan
My dad got sick and I was his primary care giver. Then I got married and really liked being back by family after my dad passed.
There is this great bar if you drink beer called the Hopleaf. It is on the corner of Foster and Clarke. It has beers from around the world. Also Svea on Clarke Street in that neighborhood had a great swedish breakfast. Oh I miss the food, the shopping, and the people. I do like it here, but wish I could get back more.
hey, Davenport! Nice photos. I used to practice with this person in college who's from Davenport and I visited her a few times there. You must know Yumiko over in Illinois side of Quad cities (Moline? or Rock Island?). best, -Dan, formerly of Gurnee, IL
