Chanting for Gratitude

Posted on March 16, 2010 at 1:31pm 6 Comments

There it was, the words spoken directly to me from President Ikeda "Without gratitude there is no Life." It was at KRG in his guidance video. For months I had been struggling about resenting my struggle, begrudging my human revolution, till I heard those words, I knew this was what I was missing. Gratitude and appreciation for my life. I have been chanting to get Gratitude back, otherwise I might as well not bother to practice. Everyday is getting better. I will never give up, no matter what.… Continue

Im so happy that my new friend Timothy Harada, whom I met on F/B invited me onto this wonderful website.

So wonderful to be connected to members all over the world and to hear their encouraging experiences. I remember when I first started chanting, I lived in a small apartment in Hollywood with my boyfriend who eventually became my husband. My sponsor introduced me, came over a few times to teach me Gongyo and left for a new life in Colorado. I was not connected at that time,…

Tonite as the WD montly discussion meeting ended and I came upstairs to the computer, I realized that today, Feb. 25th, 1985, 25 years ago, I received Gohonzon. What a journey it has been. Gohonzon, thank you for my life.

Every person may give God's name a different meaning: Light or energy, universe or higher self.....
You will find the consciousness in the laughter of a child, in the water and in love, in the breath which flows through us, the vitality we feel and in the wind which carries us. Therefore, make neither an effigy, nor a simile. This means that you can make every conceivable picture in your imagination in yourself that you wish. Because no picture is given, you let your imagination run free. You allow yourself to be exactly this or that what you want to be. Since exactly like God you are everything.
Please not wish something, but feel and know that you already have what you were looking for.

Hi Betty,

The Value Of A Smile
by Author Unknown

A smile cost nothing, but gives much.

It enriches those who receive,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment,
but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it,
and none is so poor but that he can be made rich by it.

A smile creates happiness in the home,
fosters good will in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged,
sunshine to the sad,
and is nature's best antidote for trouble.

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone
until it is given away.

Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours,
as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.
