Advice for a Young Adult

Hello All,

I hope everyone is doing well, especially those affected by the hurricane in the New Orleans area, again. My daughter went on a group trip to Haiti over the summer to assist some of the families living there, who are still impacted, malnourished, undersheltered, you name it.

I've been struggling with a question for my daughter's friend. They are both young adults, and her friend is going through a phase in her life right now where she is trying to be her own…

Advice to a youth for chanting for a goal

Hello,

One of my children is pursuing a highly desired job, and I've offered encouragement to chant. I seem to recall that there was an SGI guidance that in these types of situations, one can chant for the other party to truly see the value and potential of the other person and the value of what this second party would bring to the organization. Does anyone recall this particular guidance? Any feedback is appreciated.

Environment is changing

Hi There,

I am adding an entry to an earlier posting. My friends who I work for are going through a painful divorce, and as of last week the business began the slow road to reorganization. Some things turned out as I had anticipated, and we may be scaling back on work hours for two employees. Question about improving relationships

I know that one of the benefits of practicing this Buddhism is that naturally, over the course of time, our relationships with others tend to improve and become more positive. Which brings me to my question. I've noticed that in the course of my looking for fulltime work, some prospective employers seem to be more focused on the fact of my personal mellowness (read: introvert, shy at times), and less focused on other positive attributes that I can bring to the workplace.
