Guidance Today - Daisaku Ikeda

What people need most now is spiritual strength and a life philosophy that will further enrich their lives. Many hearts and spirits will be uplifted through the encouragements of President Ikeda's words.

About Me (tell us a little bit about yourself):
I am a member of Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM). I have been practicing Nichiren Buddhism since 1975.

I met President Ikeda on two occasions in Tokyo in 1984. I had an opportunity to meet President Ikeda again during his maiden visit to Malaysia in 1988.

Lived and practiced in Geneva, Switzerland from 1990 - 1998. I went to Trets in 1991/2. I met Dr Yamazaki in Trets. He gave a lecture in the seminar. It was a joyful seminar.

With deepest praise and appreciation to General Director of SGI-Suisse, Mr Yoji Takahashi & wife, Sophie & Francois Haddad, Jeanine & Dominique Kohli, Roberto, Valarie, Tracy Pope and other leaders and members (whom I have missed out your names) who work tiredlessly for kosen-rufu and the development of SGI-Suisse. A big thank you to all you guys. Merci beaucoup mes amis. A bientot.

Hi, Frankie!

Thanks for all that you do for Kosen Rufu ... and for featuring my comment about a fun discussion from a recent local district meeting.

I asked a district leader (Greg King) what he thought about registering our local district ... Albany District in Oregon Region,  which is a 'Champion District' that has been featured in recent World Tribune. That is, register Albany District with sgibuddhism.net as one collective member., of all of us "one in mind".  So we are going to discuss that at the next meeting, (probably this coming Thursday at Greg and Kathy's about a block from my apartment). I also mentioned to Chris Tinney this idea of registering the whole district as one sgibudhism.net member.

Advancing Peace: Overview

Posted on July 23, 2014 at 12:30am 0 Comments

"World peace is not something that can be realized simply by politicians signing treaties, or by business leaders creating economic cooperation. True and lasting peace will be realized only by forging bonds of trust between people at the deepest level, in the depths of their very lives." --Daisaku Ikeda.

In the nearly 50 years since becoming president of the Soka Gakkai lay Buddhist association at the age of 32, Daisaku Ikeda has pursued a diverse range of activities in the pursuit of global peace. His energetic efforts include personal diplomacy during the Cold War, ongoing dialogues with a broad range of individuals from around the world, numerous publications and proposals and the founding of various peace-related institutions. A Visual Guide to Understanding Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis: What Is It?

Also called "wear and tear" arthritis or degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis (OA) is the progressive breakdown of the joints' natural shock absorbers. This can cause discomfort when you use the affected joints – perhaps an ache when you bend at the hips or knees, or sore fingers when you type. Most people over 60 have some degree of OA, but it also affects people in…
