The Value Of A Smile
by Author Unknown
A smile cost nothing, but gives much.
It enriches those who receive,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment,
but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it,
and none is so poor but that he can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home,
fosters good will in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged,
sunshine to the sad,
and is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone
until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours,
as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.
Thank you for joining Guidance Today.
I am sure our hearts and spirits will be uplifted through the encouragements of President Ikeda's words. How are you lately? Just wanna say Hello to you.
Here goes....
I am your constant companion. I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden. I will push you onward or drag you down to failure. I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do you might just as well turn over to me, and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed – you must merely be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want something done, and after a few lessons I will do it automatically.
I am the servant of all great people, and alas, of all failures, as well. Those who are great, I have made great. Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine plus the intelligence of a human being. You may run me for a profit or turn me for ruin – it makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me, and I will place the world at your feet.
Be lax or easy with me, and I will destroy you.
Who am I?
I am Habit
(by Anonymous)
Quote from Aristotle: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit".
Together, you and I, lets form the habit of a consistent and victorious practice of chanting….
….Nam-myoho-renge-kyo….
