My Annual 5 X 5 Daimoku Celebration

Posted on December 28, 2008 at 1:00pm 3 Comments

This time of year is the time of year that I reflect on the past year, my accomplishments, what I am going through in the current moment and where I want to aim my life in the next year(s). With the Women's Division theme so appropriately embracing "THE BUCKET LIST" I sat down yesterday to start my bucket list. I worried that it would be too long so I bought an inexpensive spiral journal so that I could expand on my dreams. Thinking big is hard. I have written a list of two pages so far and… Continue

What's good for the body is good for the soul (and your buddha nature and mission as a bodhisattva)

Posted on September 1, 2008 at 12:23pm 0 Comments

Just my own opinion based on my current challenge to rise up with daimoku and action for a healthy life. Anytime we overuse our bodies and damage them from partying, traveling or just living, this is a good way to detox. I know the recipe sounds maybe a little peculiar to some people, but as I sit here sipping it from my bowl, I can tell you it tastes very good. I followed the recipe and then just added a 1/4 teaspoon of kosher sea salt and a tablespoon of tofu for protein. You can live on… Continue

Living Healthy

Posted on June 26, 2008 at 11:23am 0 Comments

I must say that I am challenged by the Oklahoma lifestyle. This last year has been challenging to an extreme as I have a condition that needed my immediate alternative health attention (story in a later post). What it has foced me to do is completely revamp my daily life in terms of food, supplements, exercise and enlightenment. It's very funny how in this fair state, a beef state, how much vegetables are NOT revered. They cook their vegetables until they are not vegetables anymore. Fresh?… Continue

THEME SONG TO YOUR FUNDAMENTAL DARKNESS

Just listen to the words....sound familiar? How clever for Andrew Lloyd Webber to actually come up with this incredible musical, let alone creating a theme song for your fundamental darkness listening… Continue

Shakubuku Today

Posted on June 11, 2008 at 11:02am 1 Comment

Today, I am just celebrating that special feeling when you introduce someone to this practice. Actually, I am introducing two people, one is receiving gohonzon in a week or so and the other is on the west coast and struggling. Amazing how the internet is so helpful in giving this peaceful practice to others. Her comment was, "I can't believe that a stranger would care so much about me." Such is the Buddhist way....in celebration of that bodhisttava reward, here is a chorus from the faraway… Continue

I am also plagued with a severe lack of duckettes this year, I was able to go the last two years just barely scraping by.

Never say never until the last moment...

You just never know what can happen.

Don 't give up! I won't either:)

Fantastic Site. Perhaps we will meet at the FNCC Culture Dept meeting this August. I have gone the last two years-- totally revamped my now 20 SGI practice. I have many challenges to overcome to make it to this years meeting (unemployment, house foreclosure, debt and ill son). I am determined to be there, even if only in spirit. Best,

Keibi means to protect (the Gohonzon) and involves undertaking various tasks in and around the centre. I'll be welcoming, answering the telephone, etc.

Yes Taplow is very stately and beautiful.
