Profile Information

About Me (tell us a little bit about yourself):: I have been practicing most of my life, starting at age 20.
I am a mother of two daughters who both also practice.
I have a sister who also practices.
I would like to hear from other members about their experiences

Why do you desire to join SGIBuddhism.org? Pls answer fully. DO NOT leave blank: I have been practicing for 35 years and want to reach out to other members across the globe.
I am so fortunate to have begun this practice when I was relatively young. I was the first person in my town to practice. I used to have to travel by bus and train a great distance to meetings. I knew in my heart that - that was the type of cause to make so that someday in my home town there would be a district meeting. Today there is a thriving district in my town which I am a member. My two daughters are practicing as is my sister. I have friends that I grew up with in this town who are also practicing in different parts of the country. I am so fortunate.

When people are ill around you

I know that this may be controversial to actually speak out about something, but I think it is important enough to take the risk and speak my mind.

I brought a fellow member to Kosen-rufu gongyo who has cancer and was very frail and walking with a walker. We went into the bookstore which had a long line. I was hoping that the people in the line would notice that this person - weak, frial and obvously quite sickly maybe should be at the front of the line instead the back waiting and…
