23 yrs of practice...

Yesterday I celebrated my 23rd anniversary practicing Nichiren Buddhism as a SGI-USA member. The years have never been dull:) My life has changed tremendously.
The best thing to happen over the last year has been my reconciliation with my son. He refused visits, phone calls even mail from me for 7 months. Sweetie and I are in Puerto Rico for a month working vacation, doing lots of shakabuku!

I am having a blast here in Puerto Rico. We have been here since Dec 11th. Tremendous benefit as all my expenses are paid for! This is my first vacation since 2003. My son continues in residential treatment. It is a challenge to be away from him for the second December holiday season in a row. But I am getting overdue rest and a chance to write. Also helping sweetie as his personal assistant for his business.

Oh Lawdy Mz Clawdy Apple Gingerbread

I just finished my house sit today. I made a batch of my Apple Gingerbread for my friend Susan (who let me housesit and I was able to shakabuku today), MC Drummer (my significant other who was formerly known as Sweet Honey Man) and Boyd- friend and owner of Santa Rosa Bad Ass Coffee Company (where I use the free wifi in air conditioned Hawaiian splendor).

Pretty kick-ass, huh? Now we really have to 'behave'....dammit! ;-D
OK, I had my meeting with my SGI-USA Central Territory leader. He has confirmed with me SGI's definite interest in sponsoring and making SGIBuddhism.ning.com officially an affiliate of SGI.
This all new territory for SGI themselves and in the coming weeks they'll be working closely with me, and sometime in the near future after some paperwork is approved, hope to have a direct 'link' of our SGIBuddhism.ning.com site to the SGI-USA and Soka Gakkai websites itself.
So no more declarations on our site that it is NOT an official 'site' of the SGI, and you can tell your members & leaders that this IS an SGI site itself.
I didn't think this would happen so soon but it was my main goal when i (after I joined Chris Tinney's social network group which he created 3-4 yrs ago) first became its unofficial moderator to protect the site from anti-SGI members and make it an oasis safe for both members & their friends & family alike. So mission accomplished!...so far...eagerly looking forward to new developments as word of this site get around and our 7,000 plus members will be joined by so many more in the far & distant future.
