By the way, I took up faith when I was a student in Brighton Poly in 1979 & a few months later, received the Gohonzon in Richmond Center (London). Later,I was appointed a YMD leader & VCG member. I was actively involved in caring of members & growing the district. I believe by now, Brighton must be a Chapter or HQ?
Anyway, it is essential to persevere in our practice and stay close to the Soka family at all times. I am confident you will truly experience the beauty of this practice in your life soon.
