The Value of the District Meeting

I had been sick and had not been able to attend a meeting in over a month.  I had gotten so use to feeling ill that it was difficult to break out of it. Today I remembered the feeling I get when ever a meeting is over and how I feel so good and hopeful driving home.  I told my husband this and he encouraged me to go even though he had himself caught  my sickness. When I was driving to the meeting two of the members passed me in their car and yelled out hello to me through the window. WOW…

Bipolar Disorder--and Me--Discovered & Embraced

For almost 40 years, I've struggled with depression and a nagging feeling that something was “wrong” with me.

In 1983, at age 21, I'd dropped out of college because I had been too depressed to get out of bed and attend class. A few months later, I spent seven weeks in a mental hospital because I’d abused LSD and other drugs, including the bottle of antidepressant medication I’d tried to overdose on. The drugs had made me manic and psychotic. I didn't sleep, I had…

Guidance about Obstacles and Challenges

Hello Everyone,

Here is some Amazing Guidance about those Obstacles that come up and challenge us. I hope that it helps to put things into a bit of perspective when the only reality we see is the one that is in front of us. There is ALWAYS a bigger reason as to the way our Prayers are being answered.

Prayer by Daisaku Ikeda

In this Amazing book on Prayer I wanted to share a quote that President Ikeda had said:

"Who answers our Prayers?

No one does it for us."

When we are chanting, we are calling out from our lives the answers we need to have that Prayer realized. The benefits we receive, and whether we perceive them as positive or negative, they are always benefits to move our lives…

I just read this and had to share it!

President Ikeda said in his book "Buddhism in a New Light". "An important aspect of what we call

enlightenment, or human revolution, is to change the way we see ourselves and thus see the

unconditional value of life within us, which neither requires comparison with others nor depends upon

our transient appearance."
