Buddhism Means Winning in the End

Buddhism Means Winning in the End

Nichiren Daishonin states that all people are assured of attaining Buddhahood and that this is without exception.

Though we may not see results immediately, by persevering in our Buddhist practice we will definitely be able to win and open the way forward in our life.

Putting Determinations into Action

As a result of profound karmic ties from the past, we have had the good fortune to be born as human beings and to encounter the teaching of the Mystic Law, which is difficult to encounter. How precious is our existence! We must not spend this life in vain and be left with regrets.

Each one of our struggles and hardships for kosen-rufu will become joy-filled memories of our present life in this human world- indestructible diamond-like… Continue

Practicing Nichiren Buddhism empowers us boundlessly.

The courage of a lion king resides within our own lives.

Anyone who chants Nam MyoHo Renge Kyo can summon forth that courage without fail.

When we brim with the courage of a lion king, the howling clamour of slander and abuse will not intimidate us.

Let us live out our lives with confidence and pride, unbeaten by any trials.

Struggles Bring Forth Our Greatest Strength

Struggles Bring Forth Our Greatest Strength

It is precisely when we are battling hardships in life that we are able to bring forth the supreme power of the Buddha from within.

All struggles test and prove our strength leading us to the attainment of Buddhahood.

Nichiren Daishonin urges us to joyfully and courageously tackle problems and difficulties head-on. Simply lamenting our situation will not change it.

Overcoming hardships is essential to… Continue

Striving With the Same Spirit as Our Mentor

Striving With the Same Spirit as Our Mentor

Our minds can be all too easily influenced and swayed by our environment. In striving to master our mind, therefore it becomes important to seek out and follow the example of a teacher or mentor who can guide us in the correct direction.

When we of Soka strive for kosen-rufu with the same spirit as our mentor in the realm of Buddhism, we can establish an unshakable mountain of faith in our hearts. This is our pride as champions… Continue

Keep Moving Forward Day after Day

Keep Moving Forward Day after Day

Even if it is just one small step , keep moving forward day after day. Do not get disheartened and do not give up!

Let us complete the tasks before us, one thing at a time. It is also important to share our ideals confidently with others. This way of action, we should remember is the path to the brilliant victory of mentor and disciple.

Everything Depends on the Victory of the Disciple

Everything Depends on the Victory of the Disciple

The Daishonin declared that he would resolutely protect his disciples and he urged them to strive wholeheartedly and win in all endeavors. Taking valiant action to respond to the mentor's call is the path of a disciple in Nichiren Buddhism.

response to NOV 8

"It is the Bodhisattvas of the Earth who, in the most difficult of times, in the direst of circumstances, emerge dancing, shining with the light of the greatest courage, compassion and wisdom.  Burning with such pride, please continue to chant resounding daimoku for your own happiness and that of others, no matter what may happen, without lament, confusion or fear, and build and expand from where you stand a palace of harmony, trust and hope."  - Daisaku…

I'm in First Place in the 6th Annual Guitar Center Singer/Song Writer Contest.

I've made a determination in front of my gohonzon that I'm going to finally end my 12-plus years in self-imposed exile on the backside of Japan, near Sado Island (I can see Sado Island on clear days and it reminds me of my younger days living in Huntington Beach, California, looking at Catalina Island) and come back to the US, to fight for kosen rufu with my bodhisattva SGI-USA friends.…

Haven't written in awhile. Hope everyone is good and happy.

I haven't had a chance to check in lately.  My husband is in the hospital, fighting for his life  And the hospital is not near by.  So it is time consuming for me.  I am strong and hanging  on.  Some days by threads, only.  I can't believe some people say the most hurtful comments  to me, at this time. People I have known for a long time. And they should know better.  They don't  chant but still should have respect. And then  they don't understand why I am upset. When people are going…

Recovered from diabetes

As a matter of fact, I have been going to hospital to get treatment for diabetes. Meanwhile, I have been chanting daimoku more than 2 hours per day. Recently, my daimoku reached 20 million this month. Then, I went to hospital for frequently check-up. My doctor has just sentenced me that it is unnecessary for me to take medicine of diabetes anymore. I recovered from diabetes. ”NMRK is like the roar of a lion. What sickness can therefore be an obstacle.” (Reply to Kyo'o p.412) Thank you,…
