Opening the Path to Victory With the "Sword" of Courageous Faith

The invincible power of the Mystic Law manifests itself through courageous faith.

Please open the path to victory with powerful prayer and the indomitable spirit to never be defeated.

Winter Always Turns to Spring

Winter Always Turns to Spring

No matter how cold and bitter the winter, spring will definitely come.

All who have faith in the Lotus Sutra will attain Buddhahood without exception. Nicherin Buddhism exists so that those who have suffered the most can achieve happiness.

As members of the SGI, we earnestly take action to help people overcome all kinds of hardships and sufferings and usher in a springtime of hope and victory in their lives.

Striving With the Same Spirit as Our Mentor

Striving With the Same Spirit as Our Mentor

Our minds can be all too easily influenced and swayed by our environment. In striving to master our mind, therefore it becomes important to seek out and follow the example of a teacher or mentor who can guide us in the correct direction.

When we of Soka strive for kosen-rufu with the same spirit as our mentor in the realm of Buddhism, we can establish an unshakable mountain of faith in our hearts. This is our pride as champions… Continue

Keep Moving Forward Day after Day

Keep Moving Forward Day after Day

Even if it is just one small step , keep moving forward day after day. Do not get disheartened and do not give up!

Let us complete the tasks before us, one thing at a time. It is also important to share our ideals confidently with others. This way of action, we should remember is the path to the brilliant victory of mentor and disciple.

Everything Depends on the Victory of the Disciple

Everything Depends on the Victory of the Disciple

The Daishonin declared that he would resolutely protect his disciples and he urged them to strive wholeheartedly and win in all endeavors. Taking valiant action to respond to the mentor's call is the path of a disciple in Nichiren Buddhism.

response to NOV 8

"It is the Bodhisattvas of the Earth who, in the most difficult of times, in the direst of circumstances, emerge dancing, shining with the light of the greatest courage, compassion and wisdom.  Burning with such pride, please continue to chant resounding daimoku for your own happiness and that of others, no matter what may happen, without lament, confusion or fear, and build and expand from where you stand a palace of harmony, trust and hope."  - Daisaku…

I'm in First Place in the 6th Annual Guitar Center Singer/Song Writer Contest.

I've made a determination in front of my gohonzon that I'm going to finally end my 12-plus years in self-imposed exile on the backside of Japan, near Sado Island (I can see Sado Island on clear days and it reminds me of my younger days living in Huntington Beach, California, looking at Catalina Island) and come back to the US, to fight for kosen rufu with my bodhisattva SGI-USA friends.…

Haven't written in awhile. Hope everyone is good and happy.

I haven't had a chance to check in lately.  My husband is in the hospital, fighting for his life  And the hospital is not near by.  So it is time consuming for me.  I am strong and hanging  on.  Some days by threads, only.  I can't believe some people say the most hurtful comments  to me, at this time. People I have known for a long time. And they should know better.  They don't  chant but still should have respect. And then  they don't understand why I am upset. When people are going…

Recovered from diabetes

As a matter of fact, I have been going to hospital to get treatment for diabetes. Meanwhile, I have been chanting daimoku more than 2 hours per day. Recently, my daimoku reached 20 million this month. Then, I went to hospital for frequently check-up. My doctor has just sentenced me that it is unnecessary for me to take medicine of diabetes anymore. I recovered from diabetes. ”NMRK is like the roar of a lion. What sickness can therefore be an obstacle.” (Reply to Kyo'o p.412) Thank you,…

The Ceremony in the Air and the True Buddha

The Eternal Buddha of the Lotus Sutra

In the Life Span chapter of the Lotus Sutra, Shakyamuni reveals that he has been a Buddha since time without beginning. On the doctrine of Eternal or Original Buddhahood, Nichiren states that the teacher of all Buddhas is Myoho-Renge-Kyo,

and that:”It is because of the Law that the Buddhas are worthy of respect”. In this perspective, when discussing the doctrine of the Eternal Buddha, Nichiren included also the Law, or the Eternal… Continue

June 28, 2015 Encouragement

The COURAGE of Youth is Matchless - it fears NOTHING . The Courage of Youth is LIMITLESS - it  Never Gives Up. A Society in which youth lack the courage to take on fresh challenges inevitably stagnates and declines. It is the responsibility of leaders to personally challenge themselves and impart courage and inspiration  to the younger generation through their OWN…

June 27, 2015 Encouragement

"Buddhism primarily concerns itself with VICTORY or defeat, while secular authority is based on the principle of reward and punishment. For this reason, a Buddha  is looked up to as the Hero of the World, while a king is called the one who rules at his will. ("The Hero of the World, WND-1, 835  In this passage, the Daishonin asserts that an intense battle is being…

June 26, 2015 Encouragement

"ONLY with struggles, can we win over ourselves and encourage others. It's our EXPERIENCE that allows us to have the conviction in the POWER of PRAYER, and then take that conviction and put it into someone else's life... When we give up our dreams we are accepting slow death. I don't believe we become happy merely because we chant, or chant for a certain number of years. We become HAPPY because we DECIDE we are going to chant from that decision. Failure…
