In this Amazing book on Prayer I wanted to share a quote that President Ikeda had said:

"Who answers our Prayers?

We do- through faith and effort.

No one does it for us."

When we are chanting, we are calling out from our lives the answers we need to have that Prayer realized. The benefits we receive, and whether we perceive them as positive or negative, they are always benefits to move our lives…

I just read this and had to share it!

President Ikeda said in his book "Buddhism in a New Light". "An important aspect of what we call 

enlightenment, or human revolution, is to change the way we see ourselves and thus see the 

unconditional value of life within us, which neither requires comparison with others nor depends upon 

our transient appearance."

Buddhism is a Win or Lose Struggle. How many times have we heard this said throughout our Buddhist Practice?

Yes, it is. Because we have the Gohonzon, we MUST show Proof. We must show Victory. Through chanting, hitting an obstacle, to that goal, Home, car, job we MUST continue to chant for it until we have that Benefit, that Breakthrough that is there, because IT IS THERE.…

When we are chanting for something and it doesn't happen do we just accept it and move on, or do we say this is just a challenge in front of me and I am going to keep chanting until this prayer gets answered.
