Recently, I met a gentleman who is 15 years my senior. When asked about what kind of religion or belief system he is practicing, the answer is varieties, sounds like the more, the better. He is able to share quotes from the Holy Bible, The Quran & Buddhist Sutras, looks like Jack of All Trades, get what I mean! But when I share with him about Nichiren Buddhism & Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, he never heard of them before. After sharing with him some quotes from the Lotus Sutra, Shakyamuni's highest teaching and Nichiren's Buddhism, he did not accept nor reject, I thought I have hit the Jack-pot in shakubuku him, then we parted & promised to catch up again in near future. Couple of days later, he called me up, I was surprised, thought it was good news. ".....Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is useless, you must not chant it at all.....", what the f I was stunt after listening to this kind of statement & cut the conversation short but didn't tell him off bcoz I still believe I will be able to shakubuku him one day. Regained my patience & composure, will strive on...On the other hand, I felt great joy bcoz I have never met a single person in my 24 years of practice Nichiren Buddhism to openly criticize me straight to the face, hence the fact that this incident occurred was a great actual proof that I am walking on a correct path in faith & that was the reason why such obstacle appeared...what a wonderful experience. Moreover, I have got nothing to lose at all, bcoz Nichiren said that even though a person slanders the Mystic Law, they have formed a relationship with it, though it's a reverse relationship, and at the end of the day, such person will still be able to attain enlightenment thru practicing the Mystic Law, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, one day for sure. Hence, in doing shakubuku, it does not matter at all whether the person whom we wish to shakubuku, accept or reject Nichiren Buddhism & Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, bcoz in either case, such person will surely be able to practice it & attain enlightenment. Sorry to use such analogy, it is like doing a business which does not incur a loss at all but only profit...Nichiren's teaching & Nam-myoho-renge-kyo - the most powerful of all time for all. So, I urged every SGI member out there to do this "Shakubuku Business". Nichiren & his direct disciples had done it, the 3 founding Presidents of the Soka Gakkai had done it, so too are those SGI members who have cultivated the spirit of the oneness of the mentor-disciple. What are you waiting for??? So, let's SHAKUBUKU!!!

I think this is what Nichiren referred to as the 'poison drum relationship' It is necessarily so that he has slandered the mystic law that he will potentially embrace it!

Last month, I introduced Robin to SGI and now she is so happy having a faith into Nichiren Daishonin's buddhism.
she really loves this faith and Sensei already!'
Now, I am doing shakubuku on my neighbor, Linda. So far, she is very positive about my discussion on the Buddhism! Thank you for your articles and passion for the Kosenrufu!
