Bintulu-is located on the West Coast of Sarawak. Bintulu has Sarawak's only deeepwater port and also the World's Largest Liquefield Natural Gas Complex. The once sleepy fishing village has undergone tremendous change since oil and gas was discovered in the waters off the coast in the 1970s. The population has since grown from just 5,000 to over 160,000 iin the last 30 years.Other than oil and gas related business activities, timber extraction is another important enconomic activity in Bintulu. Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism was introduced to Bintulu as recently as oct 2001.Currently there are about 20 memberswho meet regulrly to discuss and study buddhism.....
