Because of the 1st temple issue, Ikeda Sensei resigned president of Soka Gakkai on 24 April 1979. Priests forbade Gakkai members the following actions, "To call Ikeda Sensei 'Sensei'", "To edit about Ikeda Sensei on the Seikyo Shimbun", etc... The them Gakkai members could not say "Sensei!" But members in Kanagawa resisted priests' pressures, they continued to call "Sensei!" On 3 May, Ikeda Sensei and his wife Kaneko were the first to arrive at Kanagawa Bunka Kaikan at 18:59, after a ceremony at Soka University. The reason why he visited Kanagawa prefecture, was that he decided that he wanted to lead the World-wide Kosen-rufu seeing sea from Kanagawa Bunka Kaikan, and he would rather lead for the world than staying in the country of small island and jealousy. Kanagawa Bunka Kaikan was completed on April of that year. Kanagawa Bunka Kaikan is located in Yokohama city, Kanagawa prefecture.
my website:

This year (2009) is 30th anniversary of Ikeda sensei's world-wide Kosen-rufu plan at Kanagawa Bunka Kaikan.
And EXPO 150 (A Grand Exposition for Yokohama's 150th Year) will be held from 28APR - 27 SEP (Bay Side Area, and Mother Port Area), and from 04JUL - 27SEP at Hill Side Area. It is, so to speak, it celebrate SGI and Ikeda Sensei's plan of world-wide Kosen-rufu!
EXPO 150:

Fortunately I found the EXPO 150 job on March 16th. I sent my personal history to some companies, and I passed interviews and examinations of all companies I sent. So I chose 2 companies on April 2nd.

# Super Hi-vision Theater pavillion (at Bay Side Area)
from April 27 through June
# Ticket Office (at Hill Side Area) as a chief
from July through September

It must be a mission of Kosen-rufu?!!

You bet. When I started my practice during the 80s I was in Northbrook District. We had a large group of YMD there that used to work for Ichiban Restaurant (Shouji Mita, Susumu Sato, etc.). It was a wonderful time. I learned something about Ichinen from them. We'll all Men's Division now. Take care.

HI DaveC! Whenever we try to tide over the problems, we say "Ichinen is important".

I remember (back in the 80s) when we had friendly competition with the Youth Division of Japan. Their Ichinen was always very inspiring. Youth are the future of Kosen-Rufu, to inspire us and push us to develop ourselves with their spirit. This is the foundation for the future.
