Profile Information

About Me (tell us a little bit about yourself):
I am a singer songwriter with a family band AZWE "R" we write songs about life and using the concepts of Buddhism as the message towards a world without war.

I have been practicing since March 1984. I understand that the SGI organisation is me and I make a difference. I have fought against dictatorship within the SGI for years. I was in YWD and performed at many big Festivals in Chorus and Drill Dance. I was the first Mothers Group Leader and Boys and Girls Coordinator in Santa Barbara Region. I raised my children in the SGI - I was able to be friend our Local Mayor and invite her and her husband to the Annual Halloween Party that my family and I promoted and produced for 11 years in Santa Barbara without support from our Leadership of SGI - even though they do take the credit now - and even though I was the person who received the Proclamation from the Mayor for Sensei and got our Santa Barbara SGI Organisation on TV and in the newspaper and on local television programs. Still, the SB leadership takes the credit and even slandered us - the truth always prevails cause and effect is strict even though others have taken the praise and credit for the shakubuku efforts that the Orr family has done in this area the benefit is always inconspicuous and making causes in buddhism always comes back to the doer? I am sure there are many sgi members all over the world that have been hurt by the sgi organisation in one way or another but we must realise that we all are SGI and we must not lose sight of our own mission as SGI members. It is not easy for the members to practice with the organisation - but we do need the SGI and we must keep the organisation honest.

SGI is a dream of our 3 Presidents, and I feel a responsibility towards that dream and that is why I will fight with all my might to stop any kind of slander from Leadership to Members. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is for all people and I feel this practice is the only hope that I see for a peaceful existence for all.

When we practice this Buddhism there is actual proof by the doer and peace is possible. As members of SGI - we must not allow the organisation to lose the ideals of our mentor. This is the greatest organisation in the world and people are human and come from all walks of life and confuse many members as to what SGI really and truly is. I am a buddha and so is everyone maybe not awakened to that fact yet, but we all are buddha's. Thank you for starting this site. Yours sincerely, Reavell Orr (Dan, Idonarose and Arthur Orr)
Why do you desire to join Pls answer fully. DO NOT leave blank
I love Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhist Practice and being a part of this helps me and I hope I help others by the communication back and forth about great benefits that arise from this wonderful practice. Also when things are tough and we are able to call upon our family to chant daimoku for us. This is an incredible community and I love this site and will be forever grateful that Chris Tinney and Dan Defensor had the compassion and insight to start this amazing web site for all of us SGI Members to feel at ease with one another and on equal footing..Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. Thank you so much.!!

Do you remember his user ID name again?  I'm a bit distracted these days.  And I should be able to find the email address he 'used''...

Hi Reavell, thanks for your comments. Any info you have would be great! I'm about to go back to Australia for a visit - my mum gave me a trip for two to Sydney for a birthday weekend!
I can't tell you how excited I am to have found this website, what an awesome resource, a whole community of fellow Nichiren Buddhists to connect with, oh joy! I've only really identified addictions as such a controlling force in my life recently but feel so fortunate to have seen it so soon and clearly, isn't this practice great?
