About Me (tell us a little bit about yourself):
I will keep it brief for the time being. I am not a member of SGI but I have attended some of the meetings and gatherings for the past 6 years. I made up my mind that I am going to start a journal on my journey of understanding and change while chanting. I believe in GOD and Jesus but I dont agree with how Christianity at times twist things. I have heard some of the teachings of Nichiren Daishoin (sorry if I spelled his name wrong) and I feel as though he is teaching the same message that Jesus was sent here to teach. I feel comfortable in the SGI setting and atmosphere.

So if there are any members or non members who feel that they can help and encourage me on this journey I will appreciate it.
Are you a member of SGI?

The Time Has Finally Come

Just wanted to tell everyone that I have been thinking about joining the SGI for the past 10 years. I am glad to say that on October 07, 2012 I received my Omamori in Maryland. I am so happy and pleased with my decision. NMRK ALL THE…

2011 = Birth of Change

Posted on December 31, 2010 at 9:41pm 4 Comments

I wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe New Year's. May the new year bring about a birth of change for the better for you and all who come in contact with you. This year has defiantly had its twist and turns in my life but I am chanting for better understanding and the ability to change poison to medicine. I chant that I am able to feed off of the good karma from them ones I have connected to on here and vice versa in your lives. NMRK 2011!!!… Continue

Patience Is Everything

Posted on August 3, 2010 at 10:00pm 1 Comment

As I have been reading about Nichiren Daishonin and the 10 Worlds I have learned that I must be patient while studying. It is okay to experience all 10 worlds while studying but it is important not to stay in the lower 3 worlds. I have been experiencing more of the 3 lower worlds lately and not the other 7. But as I reading I am learning how to handle situations while study the material. Baby steps, patience, and taking things one step at a time is the key for studying.

Chanting for calmness and the ability to succeed

Posted on June 13, 2010 at 9:11am 0 Comments

Hi SGI family. I am here looking and chanting for calmness and the ability to succeed. I am currently doing my rotations and was offered a job ( all this within my first 2 weeks at the hospital). I am happy for them to think of me so highly but I'm afraid I wont pass the exams so I can take the job. I will be the first to say that I am my worst enemy. I have a lot on the line and must succeed. I have worked hard and afraid that everything will be taken from me. Its happened before but I can't… Continue

Hi Tauraine,

The Value Of A Smile
by Author Unknown

A smile cost nothing, but gives much.

It enriches those who receive,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment,
but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it,
and none is so poor but that he can be made rich by it.

A smile creates happiness in the home,
fosters good will in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged,
sunshine to the sad,
and is nature's best antidote for trouble.

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone
until it is given away.

Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours,
as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

Dear Tauraine______Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, with daimoku chanting for my beloved mother through her rather dangerous operation (5 bypasses). You helped extend the life of my mother so you are forever my friend. If you ever need similar support, please don't hesitate to call on me. Herb P.S you have a lovely warm face.

Hi Tauraine :) I was raised Catholic but recieved my Gohonzon & have been practicing for 7 yrs now. I read your Blog post & i just want to say - i had a similar experience when i first joined with not being listened to and pretty much suckered into doing things i had no desire to do....all i can say is,if you want to chant & enjoy the practice then dont let anyone stop you OR pressure you into doing anything you are not ready to do. Get Gohonzon *ONLY if you are ready and want it, it is your desire & your decision to make when your readyy & comfortable, you will know, with no doubts.

Anyways, I am here for u if u ever want to talk or have a question.
All the best Sweetie.
~Peace NMRK
