Born and raised in the Bronx (NY), attended Catholic High School, worked at McGraw Hill Pub Co., Columbia University, Metropolitan Museuam of Art, worked as a ski bum at a Vermont resort, and lived in Florence, Italy for about 3 years. Moved to the Gettysburg area in 1974, worked for municipal government for 27+ years. Left the Catholic Church many times. My search for a spiritual life came up short until about two years ago when I was introduced to Nichiren Buddhism... and it 's now my spiritual home. It has had a very positive effect on my life because I find the humanistic philosophy, the emphasis on wisdom, compassion, peace, personal responsibility, etc. to be just what I've been searching for. There's no sin, or guilt, or hell... and, yet, I'm becoming a better person!!! It's magical. Just wish I had discovered it much earlier on.
