Good morning Nellie.  The little community I live in Hot Springs, Montana is only about 600 people.  The Tibetan Buddhist have a 16,000 acre retreat about 5 miles from here. They also have a couple of other places in this Flathead Indian Reservation.  One of which is a Garden of 1,000 Buddhas.   [for a mere $1,000 you, too can buy a buddha statue to place in Garden.  Not quite sure how that actually changes your karma, but they are hopeful that it will happen.]  So when all this started happening to the little town a couple of years ago, I studied even more the Buddhism of Nichiren.  Therefore when they are confused about Buddhist studies, I am able to make them aware of the discrepancies according to Nichiren.  You don't have to know the other buddisms, just how this one works.

It is funny, I waited and waited and then waited some more.   Finally the other day a friend who actually works on the retreat asked me what is the difference between what they practice out there and Nichiren Buddhism.

A couple of them expressed their interest in Nichiren Buddhism and will hopefully come to our next discussion meeting.

Thank you for sharing your experience and good luck with shakabuku.

Hi Nellie,

Your Assistance Needed.

Are you practicing in Perth or in Melbourne?

There's a new shakubuku who recently joined this site and she will like to connect with SGI leaders or members in Melbourne. She has called up the Melbourne Centre but it seems no one pick up the call. She knows about Nichiren Daishonin through her aunty in Perth.

Could you please assist her? Thank you in advance.
